Blacksburg, VA - A Virginia Internet software developer announced
Tuesday, the release of its fifth generation software, which
combines a suite of visual communication tools and breakthrough
video performance that is being praised by the Internet community.
nanoCom Corporation, a leader in Consumer video conferencing
technology, released iSpQ Eye Speak VideoChat 5.0
for Windows enabling Internet users with webcams to communicate
using video Instant Messaging, videoconferencing, visual text
chat and V-Mail.
When designing the 5.0 product we wanted to build
upon our solid foundation of video messaging, text chat and
conferencing and create something exciting, said nanoCom
President and CEO, Bob Summers. With this latest release
we have added compelling features, redesigned the interface
and simultaneously enhanced the programs video performance
making this a killer application for webcams around the world,
said Summers.
iSpQ 5.0 employs a new video engine that increases video
rates up to 30 frames per second in all aspects of the program,
including five-way videoconferences. In addition to improved
performance, Video Fusion, the heart of iSpQ, uses multiple
video technologies to add camera compatibility with even the
latest cameras such as firewire cameras.
Video Fusion optimizes the capabilities of computer
speeds and Internet connections. Most programs put a fixed
upper limit on the video speed, which limits performance.
Video Fusion allows the software to be smarter by detecting
and making best use of available multimedia system resources,
allowing for fast and clear video transmissions, said
Shane Kunkle, nanoCom Program Manager.
A new addition to the iSpQ video communications suite is
the ability to send visual email (V-mail) with ease. In seconds,
users can send a live picture and a text message in standard
HTML or plain text to the email addresses of friends, family
or colleagues. A form of greeting card, the V-Mail feature
adds visual communication to the once dull text email format.
The reception of V-Mail has been overwhelming. People
have been sending their pictures and messages to friends and
family everyday just to say hello, said Marisa Cherry,
nanoCom Marketing Manager. I send my grandparents V-mail
daily letting them know how I am doing. It adds emotion because
it is visual and they love it, says Cherry.
The innovation of iSpQ VideoChat 5.0 has been well received
within the Internet community and was used by thousands during
the testing stages of development. In addition to the popularity
among users, Internet giant CNET Download.com has given its
exclusive and pick designations to
iSpQ 5.0. CNET.com, which receives over nine million unique
visitors a month, has agreed to sponsor iSpQ VideoChat 5.0
as a Download Spotlight.
In addition, to exclusively hosting the download version
of iSpQ VideoChat 5.0 file for the first week of release,
the site will also include the product in its weekly Download
Dispatch newsletter. In addition to the new features of Video
Fusion and V-Mail, VideoChat 5.0 has seen an interface facelift
and refined details of existing functionality. The chat room
has been enhanced to include rotating images of the members
who type and sounds, which help convey emotions. These audio
and visual enhancements make once regular chat room medium,
VideoChat.
The complete feature list, screenshots, system requirements
and 21-day free trial are available at http://www.iSpQ.com.
iSpQ VideoChat is also available for Macintosh Operating Systems
including the all-new Mac OSX and is translated into French
and Dutch.
