II. Online
Community Privacy Information for iSpQWeb, iSpQ VideoChat,
iSpQ.com and BuddyVision
Privacy and Security Issues
Unless produced by nanoCom Corporation, information that
you access or receive by using nanoCom software, information
sent to you directly by other users, entered or posted by
the users is not reviewed, controlled, examined, verified,
endorsed or stored by nanoCom Corporation unless specified
below. There are three ways that end-users can receive
information by using nanoCom software; direct communication,
server-based communication and iSpQ Web.
Direct Communications - Software
A direct communication is when one user's data is sent to
and received directly by another user. These communications
are deliberate on the part of the sending end user. Direct
communications are not reviewed, controlled, examined,
verified, endorsed or stored by nanoCom Corporation. Once
these communications are sent, they cannot be removed. They
can be used by the receiver in a way other than intended by
the sender. Direct Communications include:
- Calls, Videoconferences or
videochats of any number
- Broadcasts
- Online Quick Messages
Server-based Communications and Systems -
Software
A server communication is sent to an end-user by another
end-user, but is routed or stored on a nanoCom system or
server. Server communication to and from users uses SSL
(Secure Socket Layer) for data encryption. nanoCom
Corporation does not monitor or review server-based
communications unless specifically noted below. Server-based
communications and systems include:
- Text Chats - nanoCom/iSpQ servers
host text chat rooms, but participants generate all of the
real-time content. The chats are not logged or recorded.
- Profiles - Profiles are stored by
nanoCom Corporation, but they should be considered and
treated as information sent from another member of the
community. nanoCom does minimal review of profiles on a
visual basis only, but does not verify or endorse any
individual's profile rather it is accessed from within the
program or on the Internet.
- Offline Messages - Online Quick
Messages are sent directly from one user to another and
are not routed through the nanoCom/iSpQ System. It is
important for anyone who sends an offline message to know
that the messages are being stored by nanoCom Corporation,
but are not monitored or reviewed in anyway. When the
offline message has been retrieved, nanoCom does not keep
a record of it.
- V-Mail - V-Mail images are stored on the
nanoCom/iSpQ system, but are not viewed, review or monitored by
nanoCom or any of its employees. The images are assigned
a long unique serial number and are not identified by
sender or receivers email address. V-Mail text is
sent directly to the receiver and is stored on the nanoCom/iSpQ servers
for 30 days. nanoCom does not keep the email
addresses that are sent through the system and will not
use them in any way.
- Pal Lists - Pal Lists are stored
on a server system, but are not monitored or reviewed by
nanoCom Corporation. Pal Lsits may be accessed by
nanoCom employees for support purposes, when the request
is made by the end-user.

Online Support
nanoCom Corporation has online
support for iSpQ VideoChat on various days for extended
periods of time. The online support representatives' primary
task is answer technical questions. The nanoCom technical
support staff does not monitor any rooms' text chats, quick
messages, calls or other online activities unless directly
involved in the communication. The support staff will take
complaints of other members and use their discretion when
determining blocks, moves and removal of online users. The
online support staff has the ability to monitor who is
online, what room users are in, view IP address of online
members, and has access to information concerning past
usage. This information is only used to monitor online usage
statistics and to maintain the rules listed in the online
help documents located at www.ispq.com
. Some other more specific
information maybe accesses at the request of the user for
the purposes of support.

Security
This website and software takes every precaution to
protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive
information via the website, your information is protected
both online and off-line. When our registration/order form
asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit
card number and/or social security number), that information
is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption
software in the industry - SSL, unless otherwise noted.
While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock
icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape
Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as
opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive
information online, we also do everything in our power to
protect user-information off-line. All of our users'
information, not just the sensitive information mentioned
above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need
the information to perform a specific job are granted access
to personally identifiable information. Our employees must
use password-protected computers when they leave their desk.
All employees are kept up-to-date on our security and
privacy practices. Any time new policies are added, our
employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance
we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our
customers' information is protected. Finally, the servers
that we store personally identifiable information on are
kept in a secure environment.

Notification of
Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post
those changes on our homepage so our users are always aware
of what information we collect, how we use it, and under
circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we
decide to use personally identifiable information in a
manner different from that stated at the time it was
collected, we would notify users by way of an email. Users
will have a choice as to whether or not we use their
information in this different manner. We will use
information in accordance with the privacy policy under
which the information was collected.
